FSSAI Renewal
Food License or FSSAI Registration is crucial for every food business operator before starting the food business. FSSAI License is needed to be renewed before it expires.
The validity of an FSSAI license extends from 1 to 5 years and it depends upon the number of years which is select by the food operator. The cost of the license raise with the number of years applied for. So as per the FSSAI guidelines, you need to apply for the renewal of the license within 30 days of the expiration of the existing one.
If the Food license renewal application is not filed within time, then a penalty of Rs.100 would be charged for each day of delay. So if the registration of the Food license renewal has not been applied within the specified time, then the license is considered as expired. The business operator has to apply for a new license if they wish to restart their business. So, it is advisable in order to renew your FSSAI license on the time to avoid penalties.
- Filling the Form A /Form B: It is based on the eligibility of the Food Operator. These are the basic forms which are required to be filled along with the self-attested declaration that you are required to obey the guidelines of the Food Safety and Standard Act. A photo identity proof such as an Aadhar card, driving license, voter id card, passport etc is also required.
- Verification: On receiving your application, the authorities would then examine it and also come for an inspection at your business place in order to make sure that you have submitted all the information correctly.
- Completion: After a successful inspection, if they are satisfied, then they issue a license in your favour.
- Getting the License: The license should not take more than 60 days. If more than 60 days have passed and if you have not received the license, then you can resume your business without waiting for any further notice. Food license renewal is very easy to obtain.
